Back in 2000, I had a dream
about a huge Victorian Age
flying machine. That dream
has spawned a lot of art
over the years.

MECHANICAL DESIGN:
I've been sketching this design
for many years, a hunching tortoise-like machine with stabilizers like a Chinese junk.
It's sort of a Victorian Klingon battle cruiser.
The Hench 1901
The Kreppidd 1888

A swirling girder got stuck in my head, so I put it in the nose of an alternate universe WWII bomber with a robotic bombardier ...
... that led to the
Septopus Pennyfarthing,
a
land vehicle with a robot controlled by another robot ...
... and the 8-ball, a tiny spacecraft.
You saw it here first: the world's fastest unicycle.
